When the Day begins and ends?

When the Day begins and ends?

Here is what the Word (Yahusha) John 1:1 says when the Day begins and ends. But, please test this teaching against the scriptures and let me know what you see.

John 11:9 Jesus answered, Are there not twelve hours in the day? If any man walk in the day, he stumbleth not, because he seeth the light of this world.

Yahusha is the light.

Mat 20:9 And when they came that were hired about the eleventh hour, they received every man a penny. Mat 20:10 But when the first came, they supposed that they should have received more; and they likewise received every man a penny. Mat 20:11 And when they had received it, they murmured against the goodman of the house, Mat 20:12 Saying, these last have wrought but one hour, and thou hast made them equal unto us, which have borne the burden and heat of the day.

So eleven hours plus one hour equals 12 hours in a day.

Mat 12:40 For as Jonas was three days and three nights in the whale’s belly; so shall the Son of man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth.

So, there must be a difference between Day and Night, because in Genesis God called the light Day and the darkness he called Night. (Genesis 1:5)

Day is the Strong’s number H3117 which means yome translated in English to mean to be hot (as the warm hours).

Exo 20:9 Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work:

Exo 20:10 But the seventh day is the sabbath of the LORD thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates:

Here we learn that we work six days and on the 7th day we must rest.

Remember that in John 11:9, Messiah said, “are there not twelve hours in the day?”

Exo 16:23 And he said unto them, This is that which the LORD hath said, To morrow is the rest of the holy sabbath unto the LORD: bake that which ye will bake to day, and seethe that ye will seethe; and that which remaineth over lay up for you to be kept until the morning.

He does not tell us to bake and lay it up for the night. But, he tells us to bake and lay it up for the morning, the next day.

Morning is the Strong’s number H1242 which means boqer and in English means properly dawn (as the break of day).

I would now like to review some definitions.

Day is yome (H3117) in Hebrew which means in English to be hot.

Morning is boqer (H1242) in Hebrew which means in English day break.

Even is ereb (H6153) in Hebrew which means in English dusk.

Night is layli leyl or lay-lah (H3915) in Hebrew which means in English a twist away of light.

So as you can clearly see, day does NOT equal even, evening, or night and morning is the beginning of day.

Now, let’s take a look at two of Yahuah set-apart times. There are only two set-apart times that specifically mention even or evening, The Even
of Atonement and Passover, all the rest of the feasts are observed during the daylight hours.

First, let’s look at the ninth, of the month at even.

Lev 23:32 It shall be unto you a sabbath of rest, and ye shall afflict your souls: in the ninth day, of the month at even, from even unto even, shall ye celebrate your sabbath.

Why do you suppose that the Messiah had to make a special point of saying begin your Sabbath in the even? Because all the other Sabbath days begin in the LIGHT as He is the Light. After all, He is the Lord of the Sabbath!

Note: When you see an italicized word with no Strong’s number next to it in the King James Bible, that means it was added by the King James translators.

Even is the Strong’s number H6153 which means ereb translated in English to mean dusk. Also, Strong’s refers you to H6150, which means, to grow dusky at sundown: – be darkened

So, let’s think about this. We must start our affliction and our Sabbath on
the ninth, of the month at even. Therefore, if you start your day at even or evening then you will have to add the night which would give you a total of 12 hours. Now we have to add 12 hours for the day/daylight. Please let me explain, if even plus night equal 12 hours and day equals 12 hours you would have a total of 24 hours. But wait! What about the tenth?

Let’s take a look at these scriptures:

Lev 16:29 And this shall be a statute for ever unto you: that in the seventh month, on the tenth day of the month, ye shall afflict your souls,

and do no work at all, whether it be one of your own country, or a
stranger that sojourneth among you:

Lev 16:31 It shall be a sabbath of rest unto you, and ye shall afflict your
souls, by a statute for ever.

Lev 23:27 Also on the tenth day of this seventh month there shall be a
day (H3117 yome) of atonement: it shall be an holy convocation unto
you; and ye shall afflict your souls, and offer an offering made by fire
unto the LORD.

Num 29:7 And ye shall have on the tenth day of this seventh month an
holy convocation; and ye shall afflict your souls: ye shall not do any
work therein:

Remember, day (H3117 yome) is yome in Hebrew which means in English to be hot.

So let’s do the math:
Ninth even and night equals 12 hours.
Ninth day equals 12 hours.
Tenth even and night equals 12 hours.
Tenth day equals 12 hours.

Now, 12+12+12+12=48 hours

Versus

Ninth even and night equals 12 hours.
Tenth day equals 12 hours.

Now 12+12=24 hours, so we have to afflict our souls for 24 hours.
Please see illustration 1 at the end of this teaching.

Now, let’s take a look at the fourteenth day of the month at even.

Exo 12:6 And ye shall keep it up until the fourteenth day (H3117 yome) of the same month: and the whole assembly of the congregation of Israel shall kill it in the evening.

Exo 12:8 And they shall eat the flesh in that night, roast with fire, and unleavened bread; and with bitter herbs they shall eat it.

Exo 12:18 In the first month, on the fourteenth day (H3117 yome) of the month at even, ye shall eat unleavened bread, until the one and twentieth day (H3117 yome) of the month at even.

Lev 23:5 In the fourteenth day of the first month at even is the LORD’S passover.

Num 9:3 In the fourteenth day (H3117 yome) of this month, at even, ye shall keep it in his appointed season: according to all the rites of it, and according to all the ceremonies thereof, shall ye keep it.

Num 9:5 And they kept the passover on the fourteenth day (H3117 yome) of the first month at even in the wilderness of Sinai: according to all that the LORD commanded Moses, so did the children of Israel.

Num 28:16 And in the fourteenth day (H3117 yome) of the first month is the passover of the LORD.

So, again let’s think about this. We must in the first month on the fourteenth day of the month at even, we shall eat unleavened bread with bitter herbs. Therefore, if you start your day at even or evening then you will have to add the night which would give you a total of 12 hours. Now we have to add 12 hours for the day/daylight. Please let me explain again, if even plus night equal 12 hours and day equals 12 hours you would have a total of 24 hours. But wait! What about the fifteenth?

Lev 23:6 And on the fifteenth day (H3117 yome) of the same month is the feast of unleavened bread unto the LORD: seven days ye must eat unleavened bread.

Num 28:17 And in the fifteenth day (H3117 yome) of this month is the feast: seven days (H3117 yome) shall unleavened bread be eaten.

Num 33:3 And they departed from Rameses in the first month, on the fifteenth day (H3117 yome) of the first month; on the morrow after the passover the children of Israel went out with an high hand in the sight of all the Egyptians.

I would like to review one more definition.

Morrow is mochorath or mochoratham (H4283) in Hebrew which means in English next day.

Keep in mind morrow means next day.

Now, let’s do the math again.

fourteenth even and night equals 12 hours.
fourteenth day equals 12 hours.
fifteenth even and night equals 12 hours.
fifteenth day equals the children of Israel went out with a high hand in the sight of all the Egyptians.

Now, 12+12+12=36 hours

Versus

fourteenth even and night equals 12 hours.
fifteenth day equals the children of Israel went out with an high hand in the sight of all the Egyptians.

So after the night the children of Israel left Egypt.

Please see illustration 2 at the end of this teaching.

So, at this time, in our walk with Yahusha, we start our Sabbath in the morning, or in the light, on the 7th day.
